This week I'm excited to announce that I started writing Capo, the third book in the World's End series. This is Marshall and Sofia's story. You met Marshall in Duce and Sicario. Sofia also appeared in Duce. Who can forget the scene where she introduced herself to Carlos. LOL

Before we get to the snippet, let me introduce the Capo. David Gandy is exactly how I picture Marshall in my head.

Now for the snippet. This is in Sofia's POV. She's been summoned for a meeting with Marshall.

When the door closed, I lowered my eyelids and exhaled in relief. Why was I so jittery? It wasn't the first time I was in this casino. I'd frequented the place to see the Duce, Dante Orsino.

Now Dante had moved to San Torino as the new boss of the territory, leaving one of his capos in charge of Maximo and the other casinos on the strip.

Marshall Vincenzo.

My eyes flew open. My heart beat fast, nearly exploding in my chest at the thought of him. The one man who made my knees weak both with desire and fear.

Together they have to deal with a crazed ex and a bloody coup among other dangers. To survive, she has to trust Marshall who is determined to tear down her mask and offer her the things she's always wanted—love and acceptance. But what happens once her lethal secret is out.

It's been an awesome ten days with regards to book reviews. When you send your book out to reviewers you're there is never any certainty with regards to what will happen. You can only hope that they enjoy it.

In this scene, Lexan has just arrived at the Ranch and has been invited inside by Gianna, Enzo's sister. They are chatting when Enzo arrives. It follows on from last week's snippet. Enjoy.

“Gia, I didn’t know you had a guest,” he said in a deep voice that commanded attention and sent a sizzle down my spine to my balls.
I stood from the chair, suddenly not wanting him standing over me. I wasn’t afraid of him. But the way he looked at me was as if he could see beyond what I projected.
She waved her hand in my direction as she stood too. “Enzo, this is Alex. He’s here for the ranch hand job.”
“Nice to meet you, Alex, but have you worked in a ranch before?” He looked me over, assessing me as if he didn’t believe I was suitable for the job.

It's longer than seven sentences but I didn't want to lose the context of the scene.

While she was harmless, this new arrival was an unknown. My first instinct was to reach for my gun but as I pulled my hand to my chest, I remembered I’d come in here unarmed. Twisting in the seat, I saw the person stride into the kitchen.

A tall man in brown boots and washed jeans, the muscles of his broad shoulders and chest filled out the light blue chambray shirt. He had black hair cut short, but curling a little around his ears, eyes as black as the night, full lips and about a day’s growth of dark bristle on his chin. His gaze stayed on me, studying me.

I recognized him from the photos in the dossier. Enzo Mattia. Owner of El Rancho de Rio de la Plata.

My target.

The space in the kitchen suddenly seemed constricted and the air seemed to be sucked out.
