It's time to treat you to more from my current work-in-progress.

This is the scene where Dante meets his other half for the first time. I skipped only a little from last week's tease.

Tossing back the shot, I caught the eye of the young waiter who sauntered over and took my refill order. As I waited, I noticed the men around watching. One took a step in my direction. With an imperceptible shake of my head I dissuaded him from coming closer, still too tense to entertain company.

For a long time, I've wanted to write this story. But it's been one thing or the other and if I'm honest my own personal reluctance to let my imagination loose.

But it's a new year and I bit the bullet. I will tell the stories that come to me. Will anyone read them? I don't know. Time will tell.
